It is official. Lauren Graham is coming back to series television.

As EW.com reported early this week, the former “Gilmore girl” has been in talks to play a lead role in NBC’s “Parenthood,” replacing Maura Tierney who bowed out after being diagnosed with cancer. NBC has just confirmed that Graham’s deal is done.

Graham will once again be portraying a single mother to a teenage girl.

The series, loosely based on the 1989 “Parenthood” film, also stars Peter Krause, Erika Christensen, Craig T. Nelson, Dax Shepard and Monica Potter.

Production on the dramedy, expected to premiere midseason, will resume shortly.
